Issue
This Content is from ServerFault. Question asked by Daniel Novo
My web server reported me that a defective hard drive as been found in the raid configuration.
The support already made a full hardware checkup and they found the defective hard drive. It need’s to be replaced, however, the support doesn’t help deciding if I could do it without major risks or what.
I don’t remember what type of raid is configured. the server as 10 hard drives, each 10tb and I think is on RAID10.
Can anyone help me to find what type of raid is configured and figure out if is safe to do the replacement? I read somewhere that in a raid configuration you can replace the drive and the raid will re-array all data, but I would like to have a second opinion
